We are continuously updating our dungeon to
make room for new phenotype lines as they
are added. We run an automated water
change system that gives all the tanks
10-15% new water daily. This keeps bacteria
from forming in any of our lines. Some day
we may upgrade to a central filter system
which will cut down on our water
consumption but for now it is working
awesome and the fish have never looked
better as a result of it.
Our current tanks volume totals upto just under
1,000 useable gallons. With this volume and the
added benefits of having an automatic W/C
system, we are able to run a more diverse set of
phenotypes with less tank space.
This was the first rack I built out of 2" X
4"'s it is 12 feet 1" long. Top row has 7 - 10
gallon tanks. We use these for the fry until
they are about 4 to 5 weeks old then transfer
them to 55 or 75 gallon grow out tanks.
The middle row has 3 - 55 gallon tanks and
so does the bottom row.
Here are 2 - 20 gallon Tall tanks positioned nicely
on a steel rack. On the wood rack to the right are
3 - 29 gallon tanks. We use these for our breeding
pairs. Immediately behind the 20 Talls on the
wooden rack are 2 - 75 gallon grow out tanks.
