| Our Angelfish Policies |
| 1. Fish Shipping Policies: We never ship fish unless they are double bagged in bags with a minimum 2 mil bag thickness rating. All bags are sealed with elastic bands. We include bag buddies in every fish bag. We use 3 different shipping box sizes to help meet our customers maximum requirements, this keeps the surface area small enough to avoid extra shipping charges. Our box outside sizes are 10 inch cubed, 12 inch cubed and 14 inch cubed. Our boxes are all insulated with styrofoam, to keep the temperatures of the fish water as constant as possible. When the outside weather temperatures are consistantly below 65 degrees farenheit, we use heat packs in all our fish shipments. We use liners and an absorbant craft type of paper to comply with contract shippers requirements. 2. Fish general appearance: We do not sell or ship fish that are missing ventral fins. Sometimes parts of the ventrals or fins will get damaged while catching, packing, or delivering the fish, these will grow back and mend with some tender care and are not deformed fish. We do not sell or ship fish that have defective gill plates. We do not sell or ship fish that have easily viewed deformaties in their general bodies. We do not use fancy descriptive words to advertise or sell our Angelfish other than those standard phenotypes that are listed on "The Angelfish Society's" website. 3. Genetic Notations: We use the standard notations that were developed by Dr. Joanne Norton, these can be view on the website of "The Angelfish Society" at http://www.TheAngelfishSociety.org . 4. Fish body size: We do not sell fish that are smaller than what we quote or advertise. We believe in a fair trade policy regarding fish size, our policies are in line with the standards as set out by "The Angelfish Society". The measurements we use are the actual body size and do not include the anal, tail or dorsal fins. We use the U.S. coins to describe our fish body sizes. Body sizes are as follows; dime, nickel, quarter, half dollar, and silver dollar. 5. General Health: When an order is placed, we isolate all the fish being shipped with this particular order in a single holding tank. We do this 24 hours prior to shipping to give us a chance to observe the fish up close and make sure their are no potential health problems prior to shipping. This time also allows us to fast the fish and purge any feces from their systems and treat them with stress coat. The stress coat aids the fish in conditioning, making them better able to handle the rigors of shipping. |
