I had removed their spawning
pipe 2 days prior because they
were busy parent raising fry.
Guess they fooled me!
The Female is the Silver veiltail
and the Male is the Pearlscale
with regular tail.
Here I have 1 spawn at 12 days old
swimming in 10 gallon tank(400+
babies). I have a new spawn of
wigglers 4 days old(200+ babies) in
the 1 gal incubator with air diffuser .
They are all inside the 10 gallon tank.
The blue water is the result of the
Mythlene Blue I added to prevent the
eggs from developing bacteria inside
the 1 gallon incubator.
Here are the babies from the above
picture at 4 weeks of age in a 55
gallon tank. They are about the size of
peas in this photo.

Here is a picture of the "Queen" .
She rules with an iron paw and weighs
in at a slender 22 lbs. When I am too
busy cleaning and feeding fish she lets
me know when she needs attention by
tapping me on the hip until I stop and
pet her or rub her ears.Lately she has
decided that she is a lap cat, which can
be a little tough on the legs when she
puts full weight on your lap. Her pet
peeve is Pearl, Layla swears she has
cooties and stinks bad(lol).
Her favorite thing is a black & white
(naturally) knitted ball that she carries
around and howls like she is on her last
leg, it is the weirdest sound.
Of course she always brings it to me
like a puppy dog (it is so funny). When
I work on my website she is always
laying at my side like a puppy
dog...The latest joke is that we are
going to attach bigger ears and call her
our pet Welsh Corgi.

"Pearl"
The Princess Pearl. She likes to
squeak quitely and cause the other two
kitties extreme grief.
She has various different personalities
that take her over from time to time.
"Lillian" is a cute playful kitty who likes
to nuzzle up to us and play with her
mommy.
"Luther" is her devilish persona where
she bites stalks and attacks the other
Kitties when they least expect it.
Pearl uses the mirrored hallway closet
doors to practise her boxing skills with
her own reflection. She is so vain, if
she sees she is being watched, she will
non challantly walk away, pretending
nothing happened. One of her main
jobs here is to supervise me when I'm
busy cleaning the fish tanks, she chases
the old waste out of the tanks along the
syphon hose to the sink. Periodically
she likes to exercise the Bala Sharks
and Clown Loaches, just to see them
get panicked. We have a "No Interior
Closed Doors Policy" that she eagerly
enforces when we forget.

The Queen Mum. Well she really
isn't the Queen's Mum but we like to
affectionately call her that. Every once
in a while the Alzheimer sets in and she
howls when she forgets what she was
doing. Her favorite past time is to ying
yang with Layla on the spare bed and
sleep the days away. Her pet peave is
the med's she has to have every 2
days. She has incredibly keen hearing
when I try to open those pill
bottles..she's hunches her back and
waddles off to hide under the spare
bed.
Then after the meds she tries to play
like a young kitten again..

"Vanilla"
One of our little Bala Sharks. This one
measures in at just under 12 inches. They
just never seem to stop growing so we
have to keep buying larger tanks. Their
next home will be a 125 gallon tank, once
I get a stand built for the tank.
Here are our 5 Clown Loaches
(Botia Marcanthis). They love to
cycle around the tank with the Bala
Sharks. We are sure they chant
"I'm a Shark" when they are
following along with the Bala's.
We are sorry to
say but on
November 17,
2006 Vanilla
passed away.
She went to
sleep on one of
her resting
spots, the
computer chair
and passed on
in her sleep.
She will be
deeply missed!
